Awesome. I'm going to give this script a try. You require a backlink to be kept in the footer, is that right?

Just want to ask : what is the benefit anyway to run such a site like, articles i mean .. it's free for viewers aite??

This is a content management system, you can do much more than just run an articles site.. eg. a gadget site, with reviews and ratings for each gadget.. or anything really, almost any site can benefit from a dynamic management system.

An article site (or article section to an existing site) can also help drive traffic, if you keep the articles of high quality and relevant.

Great job! It'll be fantastic if you add two more features:
Meta keyword and description tags
Upload image directly from the settings page

Thanks for the feedback.
You can add meta keywords and descriptions directly from the template. (you can use eg $Category->title to setup unique keywords for each category)
File uploads is planned, the wysiwyg editor can handle it with just a few changed settings.

Looks good - just downloaded, will try it out.

Do you have any other skins / templates ready available? - I saw this supports modification, just wondering if you or any of your users have already done any.

A few people have significantly modified the original template, but so far there are no new templates available. (The script has only been available for a few days so far though)

Hi Dejavu,

when i tried the xhtml validator link , the validator showed so much errors in your demo page.. are they taken care in your updated software?

I mixed up some of the skins, it should be valid html translational
Should work now, I updated the demo.

(this is just an issue with the default skin though, and can easily be changed if say you want xhtml complient.)

It sounds to me that you are looking for something more like a forum, in which case ArticleMS is probably not the best solution.

A few examples of sites using the ArticleMS script:
http://www.articletrader.com (we use our own script :) )
http://www.articleconnection.com (owned by a forum member here)
http://www.articledevil.com (also by a member here)
http://www.blood-disorders.us/ (not an article site at all, but show you how far you can modify the templates)

Can this article system manage video content?

Dejavu
May 20th 2006, 9:20 am
Video content are just embedded in the html, so it can manage video content, but it was not really designed with that in mind.

Hi Dejavu,

I tried installing the script in one of my sites which is hosted with Godaddy. I am facing problems with mod_rewrite . Godaddy support said that mod_rewrite is enabled in my a/c and it is something to do with the script..

Could you please help me out? I have used the .htaccess file supplied along with the script.

Hi Dejavu,

Nice scripts really .I have not used it so far but from the demo sections I can see its feature and strength. It is one of the best available around.

I want to ask few things :-

1) Is it possible to place the articles under the root directory directory instead of putting under any folder .For example if I want to place the article like www.domainname.com/article.html instead of www.domainname.com/somedirectory/article.html

2) Do you also offer link directory script ? If not I strongly suggest that please thing for it as with your kind of apprach your script will rock and even beat phplinkdirectory and all other leading scripts

3) It will also be better and different if you can provide comments in the coding itself which will help a lot to customize it .It will also help in making it a open source scripts

4) Is it possible to take out powered by option from the bottom

5) Do you also offer it commercially

Hope to try it and than use it soon but point no 1 of root folder placement is holding me back.

Thanks & Regards,
Ajay
