I took over a turnkey site a few months back, i have just started promoting it and done my first couple of sales on the site yesterday, i logged into my paypal account and the funds wasn't there. i forgot to add the new email address to my existing paypal account so when i tried to add the email paypal says the email address is registered to another paypal account.

I have asked the two customers that bought from me to try and get the funds reversed as i don't own the paypal account the the payments when to but as i owner of the whole site and email address's attached to that account what can i do to get that email address removed from someone else's paypal account?

I have emailed paypal explaining the situation, what legal right do i have to get that email address removed from someone else's account? i don't know the previous owner of the site as i bought the domain through tdnam...

I don't think that legal rights would be in your favor neither expect paypal to have a role in it.

Create a new similar email id with any of the mailboxes and add it to your account (there are many mail options available).

Legal No Legal rights you have

as you can't remove any email from an account unless the user is not interested in removing the same.

still awaiting PP's response, i have now changed the email from sales@domain to payments@domain and added that one to my PP account.

Its a mistake im not going to make again in the future, thats for sure!!

That was my suggestion to just change the payment email. I do not think Paypal will do much because when the person signed up for paypal they had to verify the email and it belongs to them as far as PP is concerned.

How did the other person add your email address ? isn't it supposed to verify the email address after adding it by clicking on the link paypal sends ?

I'd say your email account is hacked.

I wasnt the first owner of the site, i picked up the domain through tdnam and developed the site myself. so the first owner would of registered the email address to his paypal account before i became the owner and didnt remove it after the domain left his ownership.
