If you was selling ads for $100+ or even $1000+ what payment system would you use?

I know PayPal is the most popular but the fee's can get quite high when dealing with larger amounts of money.

if u want lis :

moneybookers

if u r getting ads in 100 n 1000 a per deal, then u shouldn't worry too much abt the paypal fees :D

What you COULD do is have your advertisers deposit the money into a PayPal account, and then pay PayPal to PayPal to save on the fees. :)

Paypal is probably best for anything below $3000 mate. Anything above that and it's wire transfer.

There are direct merchant accounts setup for high ticket sales. These are typically used by governemnt contracters and other service industries where customers still want to pay with a credit card.

Rates typically are around 1% but there is a high transaction fee.

Instead of the typical ~2.3% and $.30 / transaction, it runs more like ~1% and $30 / transaction.

For a $20,000 transaction:
Standard: 2.3% + $.30 = $460.30
High ticket: $230

Anything above $500 its best to use international wire transfer (SWIFT). If you are in europe you can use IBAN. I would be very careful with PP for sending/receiving anymoney more than $1000.

Further, foreign wire transfer costs $20 @ maximum. If you are in EU and using IBAN its free of charge. I would be happy to pay extra fee for peace of mind.

For that amount, i would always insist that they pay via bank 'wire-transfer' only (for security reasons). If they are willing/able to pay you that kind of money, there shouldn't be any reasons (like: fees, complicated procedure ect.) for them to not accepting to pay via wire-transfer.
