Hi,

I am looking for an appraisal of my music forum. Some factors to include would be that it includes everything you see there, apart from the hosting.

This may be followed by a following sale, just want to see what type of offers you guys thought.

How many regular posters do you have? This would be one of the largest factors when determing a price for a forum memberbase of this size.

I don't want to give any false or bias info, so let the stats speak to you.

Is there any revenue/traffic figures to speak of?

Well I had adsense on there and I was making about $0.30 a day, then the next day I attempted to optimize them and just stuffed the whole thing up. So no revenue

No, as in I stuffed up the templates so I had to revert them, I haven't found the courage to try again :p

Hmm, I believe the domain that Moozica (http://www.moozica.com) is on, is pretty good, so I'd say $xxx - $250 or so.

Oh ok, less than I was thinking. I was thinking around $500-750. But never the less, thanks cpvr

I think one issue is that there aren't any pages indexed in Google or Yahoo. That reduces the value to many buyers.

I can definately agree, although I have definately tried quite a lot. So I am sure it will be in there soon, just need to wait a tad longer. I will probably optimize it a bit more when I get some more time.

I didn't know that was a huge factor

It sets off alarm bells. I mean I've seen sites get a few pages indexed with nothing more than a link from a forum thread like this one. So to have 0 pages indexed makes me wonder if there is some other problem. Good luck!I can definately agree, although I have definately tried quite a lot. Well, as you can see (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=62153), I am at awe as to how it is not getting indexed as well. So anything that is wrong with the site is new to me as well. I just created a Google Sitemap, so hopefully that will speed the process along :(

But that is for domain names. I already know the value of the domain name. I want to know the value of the site, if I like the figure I am seeing I might take the opportunity to sell it

I don't know - do you have any powerful inbound links? It shouldn't really matter but if you do then it's even weirder.

Also, what about the VB license - if the buyer has to purchase one the price goes down a bit...

Well there are no really strong inbound links in terms of page rank or traffic, but I am sure it wouldn't be hard to find some

I get the "everything you see" but what kind of license is it? I don't know much about VB but I undertand their are permanent and annual licenses...

I report posts quite often. Whenever I see them in the wrong area...just as I reported this one.

Thanks for moving it though.

Well it is an owned license, bought about 3-4 months ago

Then IMO the estimate from before was a bit low. I would say 350-400 but you'd certainly be better off getting her indexed before selling...Well it is an owned license, bought about 3-4 months ago
