There are some rules you should to follow when you start building links.

[1] Vary anchor text of your website.
[2] Include different Keywords in title.
[3] Link site from different class C - IPs (Important factor for SERP.)
[4] Vary Type of site, like blogs, article resources, directories etc..
[5] Not get all links from newer sites, and try to get links from older (and trusted) sites as well.
[6] Not get links from same location (i.e. all links from footer etc..)
[7] Try to get links from relevant content/industry.
[8] Should Have varied PR from pages you’re linking (If you’re getting a lot of PR6 Links that will adversely affect as Google may think, you’re purchasing high PR Links
[9] Try to get authority links, like links from news sites… etc.
[10] Do not try to build hundreds of links quickly.

Nice info but not always as important for some of these things as people think. You just covered things that some so called SEO experts tell you. Not always true though. these rules do not have to be followed as close as you think.

If you create a high-quality site with lots of original and useful content, other people will link to you voluntarily with no effort on your part.

Can you explain this one for me please?

A piece of the puzzle for you Jigsawman:

It means to get links from different sites around the internet.

You might build up 20 independent web sites on different topics yourself and not have any links to them, but they are hosted all on the same server with the same I address.

Now you start a new web site on the same server and you want to promote it by putting up links from your existing 20 web sites.

It won't do you as much good as if your 20 web sites were hosted with different ISP's on different IP addresses.

Yes, I kind of thought so, but better to ask for clarification than to just assume. Thanks :)

I had over 2500 backlinks for my domain and when i check now it's down to 0.

2 weeks ago i re-directed my domain to another affiliate website that is simlair and offers a similair product.

Has this happen to anyone here? My backlinks came from directories, articles on Ezinearticles and Social Bookmarking.
