Can you tell if my footer is encrypted?

Is this footer encrypted? I don't want people that download my free tmepl,ate to be able to change my link in the template? Can they change the link anyway?

No it is not encrypted but obfuscate, this means making obscure a link by means of substituting punctuation for their corresponding codes (i.e. : is equal to %3A) and so on.

Sure, they can change the link. They can simply delete the line. It doesn't do anything functional for the template and it's fairly easy to figure out that that is the line of code creating the link...

so if I wanted to erase your link I'd just wipe out the Javascript.

It's also fairly easy to decode with your own php script.

My advice would be to not try and cover it up. Most honest people will leave the link in. If someone is determined to take the link out, they'll find a way to do it.

And if I downloaded a free template and found some useless javascript mucking up my page, I'd probably delete it out of spite.
