Well if im not mistaking its quarterly now, and since we had a update in september or was it october.... i guess ...the update might take place in the first month of the next new year but it could be the second month as well, it might even happen tonight, its a bit hard to say whether when it will take place.

There is no pattern to it- just very spread out in comparison to past years.

i think that the benefits of increased PR are already weighed into rankings dynamically, but the public pr bar just doesnt' update too often. its just nice to see as its one of those visual signs that you are doing good things.

What you've read, crazyhorse, are a lot of people guessing it's quarterly with little or no data to support the guess. PageRank is probably updated as frequently as Google needs or wants to do it. The public reporting PR via the Google toolbar or otherwise is another thing altogether and it appears to me that Google no longer intends to do that with any regularity or frequency at all.

Well to be honest , lately i dont care as much as i did before about my PR. Still would like to see that little toolbar all the way to the right green. :)

none at all, you can have 5 or 6 and still not show up in the results.

I have thought, for some time, that the Google Page Rank is becoming less important and less significant. The updates are so infrequent, and when they are updated, there does not seem to be any rationale behind it.
One of our sites, www.express-invitations.com is only 6 months old. After about four months it went from PR 0 to PR 5, yet it still does not have ANY search terms in Google. It has almost 1,000 links, most of them relative contents, but is showing fewer than 50.
Go figure...........

I'm with lorien1973 and minstrel - it updates daily probalby... whenever google needs it to.
But yes, it's great to get a progress indicator that is out of date by at least a month by the time it occurs.
