How rank Yahoo Directory?

Hello friends!

Anyone know how Yahoo rank the websites listed in Yahoo Directory? Is it for order of submit age, like fist show the old sites and then the new sites? I'm talking about the YAHOO DIRECTORY, I'm not talking about YAHOO search engine... :)

I think that Yahoo Directory has its own algorithm, kind of like Google. I think that it has a lot to do with the landing page's content - having all of the right stuff (keyword saturation, title, headings, etc). I noticed my site move up the ranks significantly in the past few months, where it's almost at the top.

I know as a fact that Business.com does this - my company's site was at the very bottom of the page for its category. When I redid the site and optimized it, it wound up being in the top 5 after about 2-3 months.

Are you talking about yahoo directory right ? No Yahoo search engine...

it's difficult to say, but we do get hits from business.com every once in awhile. It kind of acts like a funnel - they rank high for keywords that are impossible to appear on page 1 for, so you get yet another chance (beyond using Adwords) for funneling in hits for those searches.

Yahoo does not work well for ranking... So you would be wasting your time getting listed in yahoo
