I found another way to search for directories to submit to.
Search for them now! (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=%22to+validate+the+reciprocal+link+please+include+the%22&btnG=Search)
Basically though you can just search for "to validate the reciprocal link please include the" with the "s and it brings up all the submit.php pages from PHPLD directories. Google returns 27,500 results.
What are you still doing here! Get submitting! If you dont have any sites to submit to all these PM me and I will give you some. :)

You could also search for:
"add url" + topic
"submit url + topic
"add topic" topic
Like this http://www.google.com/search?q=%22add+url%22+internet
You can also vary with these keyword phrases.
"add url" + topic "directory"
and so on.

Yes you can do it that way also. But this takes you right to the submit page. When searching for "add url" you usually spend more time looking for the add url link than it takes to submit a site.

The best thing to search for is:
"to validate the reciprocal link please include the" + [your keyword]
This way, you go directly to the submit page of related directories!
Hope this adds to the discussion...

Personally, I like this list of directories : seocompany.ca/directory/free-web-directories.html .
None require a reciprocal link although it can take a long time to get listed in them if you don't link back.

I use addurl dot nu, for directories.
But the google way seems to be a nice way to get directly to the same type of directories with keywords etcetc
