[B]hi frens..
i have recently come to know that...google is not paying even about 25% to the publishers of what they get from the advertisers. lol we are the people who get clicks..not google
google is making most of their money from adsense program.
i think google should think upon it and we all hardworking publishers should get our genuine dues...
comment plz.......

hmmm.. anyone care to comment on this? I believe that Google, no doubt, is earning through the adsense/adword program but I don't believe they are cheating.

They are a company that have a business model to make profit just like you or me. They can pay us any % they want as it is their program after all and if a publisher doesnt like it he/she can simply join with someone else.

And by the way: Where does the number 25% come from? Didn't I recently read something about 75% according to their annual figures?

No, cheating is if they said they would give you a certain percentage, but they didn't.
It's not cheating because they don't say what they are going to pay. It's risky for the publisher... you just have to 'trust' that they are giving you a reasonable amount.
For years I resisted putting their ads on my sites because they wouldn't say how much of the share the publisher got. It just seemed ridiculous to me that they didn't. But eventually I caved. When you show their ads you play by their rules.

Read the Google AdSense TOS first.

Where did you get that number? Everything I've seen puts it closer to them paying out 70-75%.

I would like to know this also Shawn. He is throwing out a number with no facts to back this up. Google is like anyone else. They are in business to make money also. You could not expect them to give up all their profit to us or anyone else. If they were not around we most likely would never have gotten the publisher programs we have now.

They are a company and they have lots of expenses. Of course they will take it from advertisers. And as usual they will have profit.

Google has to make money from the advertisers.
Now, do they have to give publishers a set amount? Or tell publishers you will get a certain %?
No, as they are just like any other company out there, online and offline.
25% is very generous, just ask any auto dealer!
Or grocery store!
Or gas station!
Anyone who says google is cheating them because of what they feel is not enough, I say...move on to someone else!
Don't come in here and say google is cheating you or any of us.

70 - 75% wouldn't surprise me at all... it may seem to some that would make Google very hungry but considering what some publishers make with Adsense I think people are making a pretty good deal out of it.

The contract that google had with aol gave aol 80% of ad revenues.
So I doubt that normally for most sites, most people, they would come much about 50%.
Big sites, millions of visitors daily, etc...sure google gives them the high percentages.
The rest of us....low percentages.
Supply and demand.
Keep in mind, yahoo is new and wants to get tons of publishers, so yes, they will pay higher to get this going, but sure as I type this, they will then go for the bucks and start lowering the payouts.
Same in the offline world.....wal-mart gets price breaks on merchandise that the mom-pop stores can only dream about.
Think volume!

Yeah, I also think so, rofl, thats why he has given the link to his site, yet another spammer wannabe (unfortunatly, live links are still not active for him)

I don't think they pay this amount. I think they pay around 25% - 35%.
Even though Yahoo is here, it still doesn't mean that they are going to pay any more to us. Google is a business where it involves making as much money as possible just like what we are trying to do.
Just because they have Yahoo as a competitor their not going to start panicing and increase our revenue straight away. They will only increase it if they start seeing their publisher signups start decreasing and their current publishers moving away from their program.
If they don't see any of this then they won't see Yahoo so much of a danger.

Jensense recently had this news:
http://www.jensense.com/archives/2006/01/adsense_pays_pu_1.html
It says that google is paying an average of 78.5 percent of the adwords spendings to adsense publishers. Please note that this is an average, due to smart pricing there are certainly many publishers that earn a lot less.

Well I didn't know they are paying that amount. 78.5% seems rather a lot of money to pay us when most of the other networks on the Web are paying less than that and they have not got no where near as many advertisers.
Now that when Yahoo comes out and the other competitors, I was hopeing to see a hike in the amount that I would earn, but if it is already at around 78.5% then I can't see much of an increase happening to what I though it would have been.
If they were paying something like 25% then an increase of 20% would have been significant, nearly double our earnings.
But if it is already at 78.5% then they will not really be able to increase it to much, if not at all.

I prefer them paying me a fair amount from the beginning and not starting to pay a fair amount as soon as competition rises ;)

I agree there, but when competition comes I have heard that many people think that they may earn more from Adsense due to them increasing their pay out percentage.
