"Best Answers" effect in Yahoo Answers

I need a script that changes the most important texts or articles like the "Best of Answers" in the main page of yahoo answers.
Can anyone help me to make it?
It's made with ajax, I just need some ideas.

If you enter to Yahoo Answers in the main page you will see a box with "the best of answers" or "yahoo blog". It changes in about 10 seconds with other question or answer, it has a control at the right bottom.

He wants a user to type a question into a text field, and a JS / AJAX area to automatically update with answers/links/content based on the content of the text field, without reloading the page. ( I think :P)

Sorry, sometimes I don't have words to explain what I want as I'm a Spanish speaker.
In the main page of Yahoo Answers (answers.yahoo.com) there's an area where featured answers are shown. Those answers are in layers that fade and change.
They are obviously taken from the db but I just need to know how to make layers fade and change.
