View Full Version : Adwords Site Sections Problem

I seem to be having a problem with adwords, and I've searched online, contacted Google (awaiting for a reply from my second email), and even posted on another message board. I've seen at least one other occurance of this problem, but nobody answered the other person who had the problem (they posted on a forum).

Anyway, I want to target a specific page on a site to advertise on. I don't mean I want to direct the traffic to a specific page of my own. I mean, say there is a site about cars and I want to target just the page about tires for example.

When I enter the specific URL in my campaign and then try to click on it to test it, nothing pops up. Also, I notice down in the bottom corner of my browser where it shows the URL before I click on it; instead of having a "/" to separate the domain from the internal page, it shows "%2".

This is driving me crazy! Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm hoping to target only certain pages as targeting the entire site completely looses its relevancy.

Thanks!

I have not tested it to the individual page level, and I have not tested for the problem you are experiencing, but from https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=25716&query=section+targeting&topic=0&type=f
Select a site section by entering its URL on the 'Add Sites' or the 'Edit Site Settings' pages of your Ad Group. If the full site is example.com, the section URL will take the form example.com/section. Your URL may include up to two section levels below the home page: example.com/section/subsection/.

You may also target individual pages by using the form example.com/section/page.html. (There is no limit to the number of section levels that may be included in a URL for an individual page.)

Thank you for the reply. Yeah, I saw that as well. I'm trying for (leaving out the periods for posting purposes): www example com/page html, but it's showing at the bottom of my browser as www example com%2page html. It seems to be in order with how google wants it, but it's not working. The internal page does have adsense because it's the page I clicked on the "advertise on this site" link.

You're not cutting and pasting the URL from MS Word, are you?

If so, try typing it in directly.
