View Full Version : Indians - Can Paypal charge $1.95 from our CC for verification ?

I added an ATM cum debit card (VISA) to my MBookers ac and i tired to upload funds to MB thr it.. The transactions failed and when I contacted my bank, they told me that international transactions are not allowed by RBI

Now , I am planning to add my CC to my paypal. Right now its verified thru a VCC. So, what i want to know is that is that would PP be ALLOWED to charge 1.95 $ for this?

Wont this too be dis allowed by RBI :confused:

Debit cards do not work, credit cards do work while verifying PayPal.
I use an ICICI credit card for my PayPal, & it was charged $1.95, which they returned to my account on my first purchase.

ah.. have u also tried uploading funds thru ur CC in ur PP or MB Ac? I am more interested in knowing that :D

I have not tried uploading funds to my PayPal, but once my PayPal balance was not enough for payment, & the required funds were taken from my credit card.

You can use an HDFC NetSafe card to generate a VCC (virtual credit card) number. Other debit cards don't work. (Note: other credit cards usually have Visa Electron and Mastercard Maestro symbols. The card should have Visa or Mastercard logos to work)

Yes paypal will be able to charge your card.

The netsafe card from HDFC seems to be a good option. Can you get it with a savings account with debit card or do you get it only with a credit card account ?

Well PayPal will charge $1.95 but it will be back in your PayPal balance in few days. You can use HDFC Bank's NetSafe feature to generate VCC Cards and add it. Do submit with all real information.
