$40 header contest - 20/1/08 deadline

Hello,
I am looking for a few new header for my blog

The current header is below:

I'm looking for a web 2.0 look and include the main male character. (doesnt have to be attached to the luggage!)

The colours need to go with the blog, and I'm happy for the current header background to be used or you can come up with your own design.

The text should read: Travel Rants

The image size must match that of the example.

Payment via PayPal. Contest closes 20th or if I find a design I love.

I want something that is going to make the reader things WOW! The current header used to get a lot of good comments, but it's time for something new.

The design doesn't go with the man figure, and I'm not keen on the font.

Only a few hours to go so I think I'm going to have to close this contest with no winner, unless someone comes up with something quickly.

No problem mate was just doing it for something to do last night ;) Ran out of time so never really finished - dunno what i could add really to make it more interesting, could deffo lighten it up though. If you wanna give pointers for what i could add, then i'll have a bash no probs.

I already have made a vector of the cartoon guy:

You can convert any image to vector and them convert it to any size without losing quality or pixelating.

I'm aware of what a vector is, I just said that i liked the girl with the surfboard vector. Or vexel.

well i have changed the background and used the vectorized guy it looks almost the same but looks sharper than the another one.

I have used three fonts, tell me if you dont still like the font color/type

CB, no worries, that's fine.

Neil, I like, but its just a bit too orangey. Could you add some other colours, maybe yellows, reds to fit within the colourscheme of the blog. Maybe add a plane. The guy is someone ranting about their holiday, if that helps..

Bird, I am looking for something like Neils, so not an image with the guy on and font.

just need some an hour or so to complete it actually my photoshop crashed and all files got corrupted , so i had to start of again :(

It's difficult, because I'm not sure what I am after, I suppose just a new look to fit in with the blog design. I don't think the design will fit in with the border and dark colours, the current header looks brighter.

It's too dark, and the colours don't fit the design. It needs to be better than the current one I have, otherwise I'm wasting my money.

All, the blog is for travel consumers, and travel news, I'm looking for something different, and better than my current design. I'm prepared to up the $s and deadline, but there's only 1 design thats near to what I'm looking for.

I have to dash to bed, so will give comments on submissions tomorrow.

To help think; hotels, fights, cruises, beaches, etc. rather than trees.
