curious how this works. is the alexa rank better as it gets lower or higher? just wondering because i've never really heard of it until the last month.

lower=better
ranking has almost no meaning unless you're < 10000.

From my point of view all ranks are chimeras or matter of pride.
You can rank high in Google (Alexa or other) and have no sales or not visits at all because logs may be plagued with search engines hits creating the illusion of tons of visitors.
Then your site may have no rank at Google, be the million zillion in Alexa and yet generate decent income or awesome sales and even be tremendously popular and not being listed in search engines for a penalization or whatever other reason.
At the end the results you want to get is what really matters, either a site which only merit is rank high, or a site which results translated in money or visitors satisfy you.

I think ranking helps if you are looking at stats and comparing to other sites for advertising and things of that nature.

It's nice but won't have any importance in the future if alexa ranking boosters continue to grow :sad:

You must put your site to good webdirectory.
