If there was no google PR, what and how things would be different?

everybody seem to be talking about google pr update, what do you think would be different if pr didn't exist at the first place?

For me nothing. PR is a worthless number, and I pay absolutely no mind to it. Some time ago I sold links, but not in a long time, so no use for pr.
