TLD doesn't give you any profit :d all tlds are same in search engines ;)
only local TLDs like .us .pl .cn .fr ect target your site to country results ;)

I agree.
Your on and off page SEO is more important than the TLD, IMHO.

Hey!!! No difference in crawling of .info and .com sites. So don't be confused. There is no priority settings in Google crawling logic.

It doesn't matter whether you use .com or .info, the most important thing to rank high is to well optimized your site on-page and off-page optimization.

every TLDs are treated the same by search engines. making a difference is just a matter of good site presentation and a well-balance SEO

I can assure you if I - for one - came across a search result and was shown car.com and car.info, I wouldn't want no 'info'. .com's are given more 'authority' by home users, over .info, .biz etc.

I know many sites use info as subdomain eg: "info.your_site_name.com" and have very good serps
So I think .info and .com all are ok for serps. Yet .info is not so popular as .com.

There is no different between the two in search engine, the only thing is how home user will look at the two domain name, .com will make more money than .info

Its all about content keyword selection and backlinks. .com and .info dont really matter. but people usually do give more credit to the .com site.

I have sites that have same type of content not the exact same. The .orgs and .com do much better... The .orgs are doing much better than the .info and the infos have much more links.

22 websites dot.info cost peanuts!! 22 websites dot.com cost far to much ;-)

I wonder how much higher they rank for keywords that include "info"...like, would cars.info rank better for "car info" than cars.com would, considering both sites were otherwise identical?

Yeah! both of them looks perfect for SEO! in my terminology! .com is preffered first after you can have choice of .info! as it is the 2nd highest TLD after .com you must go anyone liked most

I agree with Spider man..
Dot Com is better for a user... Search Engines dont care though...
I made the mistake of registering a dot name a while back.. looks terrible as a url ;)
Info is a little bit better though :)

.com looks more professional. Visitors tends to return to .com than .info, I know I do :)

I feel it does make a difference. When have you ever seen a result with 1st rank from a .info site when you make a search in google.
Even when you search dot info in google the first result is from .com site.

I have never seen it either.. .com, .net, .gov, .edu are the best it seems.

I was looking at a chart of TLDs and there seems to be at least 20 times more registered .COM than .INFOs. and .COMs have been around much longer, so that may be factor as far as what consumers are "brain washed" to accept. But I do remember reading a rumor a while back that google was kinda "slapping" the .INFO because they accociated them with people spamming, proxies, and other disposible functionalies.
Its like .INFO is the sterio type for crappy domain content now.
I've yet to see a solid case study on .COM vs .INFO. So until then, I just bought a load of them so I'll get to see for myself!
