No backlinks from Google?

I've signed up with plenty of reciprocal link partners, quite a few smaller directories, and I'm registered in DMOZ, but Google still won't pick up backlinks for my site.. Typing in ResearchTechs gets plenty of results in Google, including a number of my sites, but typing in link:www.researchtechs.com yields nothing. Not sure where to aim from here, any advice would be welcome.

Perhaps you have no backlinks listed with them?

What does it mean to be listed with them? Having the pages that link to me indexed?

Google is slow to recognize the backlinks, but you can notice results of the backlinks in your SERP rankings before the link:example.com will report the backlinks. Not sure the reason for the delay.
