WordPress Adsense Deluxe Question / Help needed!!

Hi Forum members Im new here so go easy!

Set up Wordpress to make my blogging easier. Was previously doing it all in HTML (mental!)
Anyways, I installed the Adsense Deluxe plugin and cant get the ads to work.
I set up the default and it says place <!--adsense--> into the post at any point.
Thing is I tried this. Why wont it work?
Do I just place it as text? or go into the CODE tab and do something there?

Im really stuck on this. Help much appreciated.

Ok nearly working now.
The square box comes up where it should be
but it says 'Webpage cannot be found"
