We are showing an increase but still "missing" about 75% of our links. Can't figure out why Google won't show them all??

I got a big decrease in Google but a huge increase in MSN Beta... LOL!

There are strange things going on with the directory as well. I noticed it last night. It ain't there. http://directory.google.com/
From the toolbar I can get to: http://www.google.com/dirhp
but not much farther.

Huge backlink jump for me as well - from 107 to 653. I also noticed I moved up ~ 150 spots in the SERPS - from 666 yesterday (proof that google is the devil :)) to 509 using http://216.239.59.105/. Which seems bad until you realize that I was not in the top 1000 3 weeks ago.
MSN Beta has me as #3 for this same one word key phrase.

It looks as if I lost 6 BLs. I would say however I dont think these are going to hold. Looking at that DC and then looking at a few others, one of my competitors on all the other DCs went from first page to page 9.
I think G is just playing around with something. The competitor I speak of was ranked number 8 in G yesterday and now today from my DC they are ranked like 96 and looking at most of the other DCs they have those same rankings, but looking at the 216.239.59.105 Dc they are ranked # 8. I dont know if that is any kind of a clue but, it is strange.

It was gone, but is now back. Before it disappeared I noticed directory PR changing back and forth a few times over a couple of weeks.

All backlinks went up. Havent done anything to get links in the last 2 months. Some crazy SERP's movement... luckily it's in the positive direction.
The search results on Google for Weirfire has gone from 2490 to 3090. It's like they've just lumped on another 25% results.

On the last update around November 25th my BL's went from about 60 up to 2320 in Google. Mostly because of the Ad Network. It's great.

I lost about 50 BLs in Google, however, MSN beta shows about 800 new links.

First my SERPS went down Thursday and now either late yesterday or overnight I lost 1000 BL's. I don't like this one. :( Pretty much wipes out everything I achieved over the pat month or two. :(

My Backlines are still in place. But now my SERP is gone (out of the top 1000).

A splash page? No offense, but that seems like much more trouble than it's worth.. the language issue can be dealt with without having to effectively sacrifice a PR point. In my opinion there are virtually NO good reasons to have a splash page -- but maybe that's another topic ;)

I work with a dinosaur who thinks Netscape 4, 5, 6, 7 are all the same as NN4, there's no way I can convince him to get rid of the splash page. I don't SEO it, only the home page for each language.

Give him/her credit thought -- most dinosaurs have a lot of trouble hitting keys on an average keyboard without pulverizing the keyboard...

I don't get it. Yahoo, AltaVista, and Alltheweb show me with 6k links, all up over the last week or few. HotBot and MSN haven't moved at over 1k and google still has the nerve to show 100+ and continuously drop links when i have had more people link to my site on quality pages. I had more backlinks showing in google several months ago and have got a lot of bl since. I dont get it.

The key phrase in your post is "backlinks showing in google" -- just because they don't "show" doesn't mean they aren't there.
How are you determining backlinks?

It's all part of the sandbox my friend.

Dec 19th 2004, 11:00 am
No wonder I never had a sandbox as a kid.. My parents must have knew I wouldn't like one :p
I have been checking my backlinks on google, marketleap, and the keyword tracker here. They all say the same..
I do find it strange that Google hasn't noticed any COOP sites as backlinks but all the other Search Engines have.. But then, due to my increase in ranking I know Google sees it. Of course they love to keep us guessing, but why can't they play fair? :p
minstrel

They are playing fair -- to searchers by making it harder for webmasters to try to influence the search results.

Just this morning I have read about people placing ads on coop ad network with no content, adult sites, ... Then we have posters telling us to join their coop to click on each other's Adsense ads. Peolpe are copying sights right and left, cloaking etc. An ideal world it is not. Wish it were.
