This forum (and sub-forums) is for our Optigold ISP billing software product. In case you don't know what that is (and you are curious) you can find it at http://www.digitalpoint.com/products/isp/

Additional sub-forums may be added in the future as necessary (for example Pre-Sales Questions, Installation, etc.), but only at the point they are needed.

You didn't think Digital Point Solutions supported itself on free tools, did you? ;)

I was wondering...

I figured you had some sort of hosting, web design, or seo service that you offered and that was how you stayed up.

If i ran a big enough business though I'd certainly buy this tool, does everything you could want, and probably plenty of things you would never have any need for, lol.

It's been around long before any of the tools (since 1997). It's primary function is billing (recurring, usage based, etc.) but does a lot of other things that ISPs need (like server provisioning).

Basically, if you did not have a backup of your optigold files on your database...all your customers are gone :(

We have gotten into the habit of shutting down the database on fridays for about 10 mins to do a backup. You have to quit filemaker server then copy the OPTIGOLD ISP files from within the program.

We deleted all of our customers in the beginning only to find we had to re-add them all over again. Not fun.

FileMaker Server has a built-in Backup mechanism. It can periodically and automatically backup all open databases, while running without having to shut it down. Read the documentation or the help files. We have it backup the Optigold files every night to multiple locations.

Since it's no longer offered, I wouldn't get too excited about it.
