Best way to keep tracking link activity (have they been clicked etc etc)

What´s the best program to keep tracking link activity?

I mean when I have some link in my page to another page such as youtube.com how do I keep tracking how many clicks the link earns?

Is there any analysis program for that kind of "job"?

Google Analytics can do it, however you need to add a JavaScript with every outbound link, read here for more information
