I am not complaining about low adsense revenue in Dec. I am just very curious about the sudden low CTR that occur since Christmas till today.
I found it very weird.
CTR has dropped significantly. From 6-7% to a mere 1-2%. No color changes, no site redesign .. visitors come from the same place (google) & still uses iIE.
So what's going on?
Has anyone experience the same thing?
p/s I'm aware of the new limited area click introduced and no, my sites' CTR wasn't affected. It was all normal - until Christmas.

the same here. Even proven high CTR sites within my sites perform dramatically bad for last 4 -6 days. CPC dropped too

Maybe its just peoples new years resolution, not to click on ads? ;)

Traffic has been low generally to all types of sites except shopping. Pretty normal for the time of the year you are referring to.

You should wait until Mid-January and see if your traffic has gone down. If it has, then your revenue will go down - unless your niche has less advertisers this time around.

ForgottenCreature ,
So far my traffic has come back to 90%. I'll wait till Mid-Jan to see if there's any improvement. Thanks for the advice

Ya, alright. Then it's your niche - less advertisers are advertising right now. My earnings are continuing to go up and down, but I'm not worried - because traffic is also increasing, and I'm using kontera (http://www.virtualpetsblog.com/2007/12/11/supplement-adsense-with-more-ads/) with my adsense - so my earnings continuing to rise. You're welcome.

My CTR has went from 3% to 1% on my main site. Meaning hundreds of clicks are now down to a mere hundred. No changes at all to the site, so all ads and traffic are the same - very odd. I might try switching the colours round to see if it makes any difference.
And re: Kontera : Kontera makes me about $1/day on a site with over 3,000 uniques daily so it isn't exactly a huge compliment to Adsense.

Hello,
I'm from Kontera. What you're describing is a seasonal drop. People are a little less responsive to ads On Christmas day and the following few days. CTR should pick up again very soon.
Jambo, what is your site's address? I'd like to look into it and see where we can optimize to bring better results.
Thanks,
Mika
