Hey there,

I was averaging around 200 unique visits a day so said the google analytics graph and for the past week it literally flatlined getting 0-1 views a day!!? This is of course not possible as my forums are still getting just as much visits as its always been, there are no problems as far as server goes, what could the problem be do you think?

Thanks!

How do u know that your forum is getting the same visits as before?? Last week was very down for all of us, as it was festive season. No one would want to seat on the computer and surf the net. That might be one of the reasons.

Have you changed to the new ga.js code? I did on a section of my site and lo and behold every page that has the new code has had no visitors since the change.

If you would have read you would have noticed that I flatlined to 0, meaning 0 visits, not even myself I guess you could say :P.

Oh? Never heard of this, and no I didn't change. Should I?

The new code means that you will be able to apply a new range of analytics to those pages that use it. In the end, I removed the new code and went back to the standard version. I did a Google search on problems with the new code and it seems there is some workaround for it but ... well I'm not comfortable with doing that for the moment so I'll stick with the old code for now.

I don't think the problem is due to new code. Although the traffic was down during the last festive week, it didn't flatten. Just check your site for its real traffic or unique visitors by using the cpanel :)

Could you have possibly messed up the code anyhow, or added any other code to hinder it?
