If your website is new, what ways do you get listed and get through Google filters to be listed?
I was reading through an article at Free-Seo-News that there is pretty much 4 things to do.
1. Keywords
2. Links - to get as many related links as you can
3. Optimize
4. Wait
So ok I understand about finding and keeping up with keywords for your site and about linkbuilding. And yes I also understand about the waiting part as well.
But I am curious to know what others do to optimize their websites. What do you do to optimize your site?

Adding content, don't try and mess with Google. Make sure your site is easy to navigate. Do stuff normally.

Adding the content is important. Fresh content is spider food.

Yes with Google they love to see fresh content and the more frequent the better. One thing though with the content, don't just copy it from other websites or take chunks of articles you have read online. Google will see that as duplicate content and will penalize your site. Keep the content original and you will be rewarded in the long run.

Frequently adding fresh and original keyword focused content is important. Also, do something everyday with your website -- optimize keywords, place a link, update sitemap, etc. Do everything in moderation, don't build too many links too fast, don't keyword stuff, just keep a slow and steady pace for at least the first year, this will most likely help keep your website under the radar and able to pass the filters while getting your website listed, indexed, crawled, and organic ranking.
