Google AdSense Charting

I was very much inspired by Digital Point's AdSense Charts tool. So, I created my own customized version of it. (Hope this post is okay with Digital Point, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :) )

see, the only reason i use DP's is because you upload the XML file. i'm not going to give my login to anyone.

even though you are new, i don't doubt your program sucks...but i'm not going to take the risk. don't care how many promises you make

You make an excellent point. I do feel I need to figure out an easy way to have the data available for reporting without needing your login or needing you to download and upload csv's. Of course that's easier said then done, because heck I wouldn't trust anyone random webiste with my login either.

What if I just asked the following of the user (which I know would still be a lot for a web novice, an IE hater or someone that still doesn't trust me whats-so-ever)...

1) Log Into Google AdSense as you normal do (on www.google.com/adsense)
2) After logging in go to my site and update your Internet Options to allow cross-domain access (with Prompts if you wish to know each time I request data from Google).
3) Begin using my site. At this point (through IE) I can use your existing login cookies to access your CSV report through JavaScript HTTP requests.

So, what do you think? Would you think most users would still be hesitant to the tool due to the added complexity or still limited security risk?

i think you need to make your demos better and get some testimonials

I have created a live demo of the software. This way, without logging in, a user may use all of the features of the software as if they had. The data used is real live data that has simply been changed to protect the innocent.

Nobody is going to give you adsense login details.

As I posted early I'm trying to find ways so that you don't need to.

However, surprisingly about 50% of the recent visitors have logged in. So, I guess some people are brave enough to chance it. I know I would be very scared to personally. Good thing for those 50% though, I realize stealing their logins is not only illegal, but would make me much less income than if I didn't steal them and kept them as a returning visitor.

Thanks for the honest input though.
