hello and happy new year to all
I've only been a 'trainee webmaster' for a few weeks now and I'm starting to get my head around it all. However I would appreciate some help figuring my site traffic.
First I started with this site http://bmwuk.info/home.aspx but got bored and stuck for content so now I'm working on http://otherwebpro.com/home.aspx There hosted with godaddy. I've got a web site report, don't know if its something I added whilst messing about and trying things or if its a godaddy thing. have a look at it here
http://www.bmwuk.info/stats/index.html
It seams to have both websites combined which isnt exactly ideal. But what I dont understand is the difference between the number requests and the number of page requests. I thought it was simple page for page and the just requests being things like pics or other files. but if that right then how can I have 0 page requests and loads (100's) of requests. there seems to be no connection between the two??
I know the solution is to get some other counter / traffic analysis script or program or whatever. I tried the counter from dp but found it would only work on one page, when i put it on two it didnt work. I would like to be able to see number of new visiters and returning visiters. Can anyone recommend a good easy free solution please. I'm useing ms web developer express 08, what does everyone else use?
wow!!! ended up lots of questions, sorry
Thanks for reading this, And thanks in advance for any advice. Your time is appreciated :)
Now I just need to get some traffic to count LOL
