Do you want to do this with or without images? With images, it's easy, without it's hard and probably requires javascript.

Ya, in your CSS try something like this:

.upperLeft {background: url(upperLeft.gif)}
.upperRight {background: url(upperRight.gif)}
.lowerRight {background: url(lowerRight.gif)}
.lowerLeft {background: url(lowerLeft.gif)}
