eBay ACRU's that give $25 and those that give $0

A question for knowledgeable eBay store owners: What is your average percentage of Leads that actually turn into commissions? I've had 5 signups in the last couple days, so far 2 have converted. Getting curious about the other 3!

Any hard data?

You probably wont get them, Ive had 80 leads and maybe 20 converted in the last few months. 2/5 is pretty average.

I think they have to purchase or sell something before you get your commission.

All they need to do is place a bid, they don't need to actually win anything.

ACRU fees occur only if they purchase something. Whether they win it with a buy it now or bid you get the ACRU fees.

I've been using auction ads to do all of my ACRU conversions and my success rate is pretty high. Keep in mind the more RARE the item is you are promoting the more likely that you'll land an ACRU fee ;) as that customer will be more inclined to buy if they can't find that product anywhere else.

mbrown is not correct (though they have the right strategy) about what converts an ACRU. Per eBay:

Q: What does "ACRU" mean?

A: An "ACRU" is a new eBay active user. That means an individual who: (a) registers for eBay for the first time; (b) confirms his or her registration with an eBay-supplied password sent by email; (c) then goes onto eBay and places a bid or uses BIN to purchase an item within 30 days of their original registration.

The program is not session based - users do not need to click, register, and make a bid or use BIN during the same visit. As long as they come back and finish the registration process within 30 days.
