I accidentally registered the .net when I was doing the .com. So now that I'm stuck with it I decided the best thing to do was sell it.


Things to note: the .com isn't up yet, but the .COM is going to be a very well written affiliate program directory and rating system for webmasters. Best affiliate Programs is a also a very high demand and relevant keyword to the topic so this domain will greatly help your seo efforts while still maintain a fairly memorable/respectable name.


Therefore lets assume i have the .com finished and the site looks great and its like a PR4 in 6 months. How much would the .NET domain be worth you think in a few months
under those conditions considering it will be sort of getting the name recognition of the .com site (plus it's seo friendly)

If you get a good PR and develop the .com nicely id say the .net one could go for 300 bucks at least but probably around 500.

4 word domain and a .net. undeveloped not worth much low - mid $xx if that. Development could benefit this ;)

How much would it boost the price to have it pointed to a free host page with just a simple landing page?

So having a great seo domain and having the .com version doesn't boost the price much of the equivalent .net? Im getting conflicting answers here.

Can't see any value unless it's developed. If you registered it in the last 4-5 days, you might be able to get a refund it you made a mistake registering it

its godaddy so don't think they will be much help with that.

So you don't think the .com will play much role in the value of the .net? I could get the Pagerank of the .com to a Pr 3 or4 and looking very nice and professional in way less than 6 months.

I don't want to develop the .net and would rather sell it clean, since it has the same exact name so it would be dividing my SEO efforts and wouldn't make sense if I developed both at the same time using the same keywords/topic.

From what I've heard, you can also do it, but what you'll need to do it 1st email the support & tell them that you made a mistake registering it & want a refund. Then they should cancel that name for you & refund you.

This isn't actually true. With GoDaddy if you are within the 5 day's grace period, you can delete the name for a refund. Simply call them on the phone and tell them. I know you can do this for a fact having done it myself.

I just put the site up on blogspot Top Affiliate Programs (http://www.bestaffiliateprogramsreview.net) I decided rather than lose a few bucks by selling it lower than what i paid out to(2 full years with privacy protection) and hassle with giving away a good seo/brand domain that I would just turn it into an affiliate blog. Personally I think the seo and brand value is far more valuable then what you guys are saying its worth, so ill just keep it and develop it over the next few months when i find time.

one problem im having is i can't get it to go to the domain in IE or opera (only mozilla) without the www. Ive usedboth cnames and still can't get it do that.
