Hello,
I'm currently in Canada and was wondering if I can use paypal from another country and still withdraw / deposit to a bank account in Canada?
Will my account get closed?
Thanks.

You can't but you might be able to withdraw to a visa debit card that is attached to your Canadian bank account.

PayPal can "see through" proxies.

PayPal can "see through" proxies.
This is not necessarily true. It depends on how it's done.

Using Anonymizing Proxy is prohibited by Paypal. See https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/UserAgreement/ua/USUA-outside#restricted-policy

With that said and done, if you are traveling for a holiday or on a short term basis, what you need to do is to contact Paypal and inform them of your travel plans, ie the timeframe and the country you are traveling to. That's what I do and I have not faced any problem withdrawing or paying through Paypal. However that country are you are visiting must be a Paypal supported country.
However if you are planning to travel for a long term basis then you should close your existing account and open a new one in that new country.
That is pretty much what Paypal told me.
