MSN Beta Algo Change??

Is it me or has MSN Beta recently changed their algo.

One of my site, that was number 1 for a certain keyword is now not even in the top 50 ... bit its still indexed. :confused:

Maybe its just one of those 1 day drops that occur in G from time to time as well.

I noted the same, I was #2 for my keyword but have now disappeared. May main page doesn't seem to be indexed now but a deeper page is but for a more obscure keyword!!

I am trying to stay positive ... my fingers are crossed ... hoping they are busy with an Update or something, maybe even preparing for go live! early in Jan 2005 and ofcourse .. that my site bounces back. :D

What you are seeing I think has been already noted and that is a disappearance from a high position totally - in my case I have always come back.

My guess - they have spidered more widely and deeply and with the bigger pool of info, rankings have changed.

the msn spider has been to my site over 250 times since the beginning of december so i think something must be happening

MSN BETA changes ranking very fast. My ranking changes 4-5 times a week. Although I had manage to stick at Top 10

yeah..i was in first page...then drop out to nowhere..now i'm back again...very dynamic.

Same here. We were #1 for a very competitive keyword but now come up on page 5!!! Looks like MSN started deep crawling us on Friday and we disappeared right away. Then we appeard back as #1 but on Saturday we dropped to page 5. The search for our keyword was yielding more than 10Mil results but Saturday night it was showing only 1.8Mil. now its back to 10Mil but we still on page 5. Not very pleasant to see. I also noticed that our BLs, as reported by MSN, droped significantly. MSN was showing about 50000 BLs before and now only about 20000. I will update if our SERPs change again.

Boy....ya scared me...made me look..and I swore I wasn't gonna til it went really live...
Still out right #1 and #2 (counting sup results..) for 1 major and all minors and moved up to #5 & #6 (sups) for my big time major thanks to the co-op! (definetly gonna piss off some mortgage lender guys if this goes live like this)

Oh where art thou Google, why dost thou forsake me so!

I am very happy with MSN Beta. I think Bill is treating me well since I am like always saying Microsoft = Best Software Company lol.

I seen no movement yet from where I am - Top 10 rankings.

No change on my site, it is always #1 for my primary keyword since I knew the beta version, looking forward to their realease.

My very newsite is at #11 now and also receive few hits. I hope it moves up. :) I want to be #1. :p

I have a listing with MSN bCentral Directory and called to ask what was happening. I was told that with the launch of the new MSN Search, many changes were made to their search engine. I was told things would settle out soon.
