Hi,

I'm totally new here, I hope I'm not posting something totally obvious. I'm creating a site from scratch and I have a number of adsense adverts on the page. I'm getting a few hits here and there but nothing special yet - only about 100 page views a day. But the adsense clicks I am getting are not generating any money yet.

I understand from reading this forum that the value of the clicks goes up in time. But, does anyone have any idea how long this takes? I've been on adsense about 3 weeks and I've not made a penny yet!

Are you clicking on the ads yourself?

well, like everyone, I've done a few experimental clicks but no.

I have had a few other clicks but they have all been valueless according to adsense.

Are the ads showing or do you get the 'free' ads.

I've got proper ads coming up and everything, it's just that the clicks are not generating any money at all yet. Not even $0.03.

I mean, to put this in context If my ads were worth $0.03 I'd probably only expect to have made $0.09 in total but every click has been $0.00

I was just wondering that if the value increased over time as my website gets more traffic / a higher PR if I would get off the $0.00 mark.

For my first 9 months, I had 1 month earning over 10 dollars. My big change came when I decided to populate the entire site with ads rather than just one page. Another factor is the keywords that are bringing up the ads. For some keywords the ads top bid is less than a quarter which equals a low payment to you. It could be that in your niche, people don't pay a lot for ads.

True, I guess I'll just wait and see how things progress.

give it a bit of time - tweak it and try new positions and colors and most of all try build traffic.

The value of the clicks is really dependent on what types of ads are shown and how much the advertisers pay for. Sometimes, google pay $0 for clicks due to their algorithm for filtering of cheaters. So, do not worry and just concentrate on building your traffic. The money will come, slowly but surely.

As I look back over the early days of my earnings I had similar observations - but it does increase with time and as you add new pages. Set yourself a goal of how many new pages you want to add each day and you'll find that helps too.

As I understand it the minimum payout is .01/click. If you are not seeing anything than I would guess these may be PSA's.

True, but I can think of a few times where it was a complete accident. I mean you are wondering through your own site and happen upon something interesting.. Anyway, google has a filter you can set up (if I remember correctly) where by you can filter out your own IP to avoid problems.
