$200 Logo Challenge

Hi, I'm looking for a logo for a new brand skincare range.. I won't divulge the future brand-name because I don't want to risk it being pinched before the launch.

All I can say, is that it is a two word brand-name, both consisting of 4 letters each. So I shall provide an imaginary name for design purposes.

Utoe Pyoo .... (that was off the top of my head and i know it sounds ridiculous but the chosen letters are useful for layout purpose etc.)

So, I need a logo for a beauty product that is completely natural. The range will cover skin cleansers, moisturisers etc etc. No chemicals whatsoever.

I want it to be clean, simple but unique & striking at the same time. I don't yet have any idea what colour the packaging is going to be so it's an open market as far as ideas are concerned.

Due to it being a very busy time of year & that I'm going to be very fussy, I'd like to keep this challenge open until the middle of January .... let's say January, 15, 2008. End time to coincide with the time of my posting. HOWEVER ... if I set my heart on a contribution before then, I will close the competition early.

The end product must be sent to me in a format that I can edit and print for small bottle labels & up to A4 poster size please .... if that's possible ? Please ask questions on the thread or by pm if you need any more info.

In my mind, I'm concentrating mostly on the font as the most important design aspect ... and I would like the capital U to have those two accents over the top i.e - dots, dashes or something integrated but still along those lines ...

I wasn't sure myself if the U & P are the same as the real name either, mainly why I didn't put much effort into transposing it onto the labels of the demo product line. The concept I can put with any letters really.

Good question, I'd rather know now so I can start reworking early into this rather than find out towards the end. ;)

yours is quite elegant and I like the leaf on the U. I'm not sure about the colour scheme and definitiely not sure the two different fonts work together.

Scorpionagency, thanks for doing the logo's on product examples, cool idea :) Unfortunately I'm not too keen on that font & the colour scheme is too feminine - my fault, I should have said that this skincare range is going to be unisex.

Panic, that is unique :P I like the font, but it's a little difficult to read with the grey on black. I'm not sure about the face image, it's too detailed.

Tmash, your first one is very pretty but the butterfly makes it too fussy &, the font is a little old fashioned looking to me. However, I am drawn to your third logo. Could you play around with that idea ?

Sean-pollock, that's an interesting one. I like the theme, but the leaf behind the font makes it difficult to read. Nice !

Shay-A, I like it, could you play around with the colour scheme and perhaps integrate the initials "up" into the little image ?

Hi duez, UBER PYUA is the brand name. However, in my first post I did state that the finished logo must be posted to me in an editable format .... which means, I guess I'll need the font file too, so technically speaking you can write what you like but, as I've now purchased the domain name, I am able to let you all know the real brand name.

i tried printing my logo on my regular printer, on a normal quality print setting and the logo came out pretty much identical, only difference is it came out a little bigger than i expected on paper.

i can make it any color you want, il try to work on some variations later today.

Cortezzy I like the idea of the droplet of water but the font and droplet are not crisp enough to portray purity. If you are going to incorporate a drop of water it needs to have more clarity.... glass-like. That would be interesting theme :)

Hehe hi mac_crazy :) In the UK we call any nasty bug the Dreaded Lurgy. At the moment the flu virus is doing the rounds. I came down with it on New Years and only feel properly better now. It hit me really bad for some reason and I haven't had the flu for years so I think I had 10 years worth of flu in one go ! :eek:

Anyway, I am recovered now and feeling full of beans :D

I have a problem. It turns out the font I used for the design you like is not available for purchase. The creator won't release it for commercial use, and wants it to remain free only for personal use.

So that font is out, I can't use it. I'm very sorry, is there some other font that you saw anyone use that you would like me to try?

I did a quick mock up of a few other fonts, along with some of the elements you asked me to add (these can only be used with ru7's permission, if he objects, then it's back to the drawing board!).

I did a quick mock up of a few other fonts, along with some of the elements you asked me to add (these can only be used with ru7's permission, if he objects, then it's back to the drawing board!).

That's a shame tmash :( That font went perfectly with your design. The proportion of the words and graphics was perfectly blanaced in my opinion.

None of your new logos with diff fonts have that same balance and I find a niggling problem with them all.

I really am at a loss as where to we go now. I need some time to think.

If anybody has any suggestions, please offer them up :)

OK, now this is going to go down very well, but due to the fact that I do not have any more time to spend on this contest, and the fact that you can't deliver that original winning logo for me tmash, I have decided to choose an entirely new logo.

If Ru7mka can send me high resolution of the following logo:

I am very sorry about this tmash :( but I just don't have anymore time to spend on this project and you cannot provide the logo I originally chose.

How about we split the total prize money like this:
