I'm trying to find Yahoo's official site on this and am having a hard time. Their developer page is a mess. So sad :(
Anyway, maybe someone here has been through this. When I'm pinging blog services using xmlrpc all of my services work except for yahoo's which comes back with an flerror of 1 stating "Unable to Process".
Can someone help me out here?

Y is as much a mess as some Y pages/services
Y has 2 separate channels to ping RSS
last time I check one was always giving zero results - the other working fine.
1.
for the new version of RSS ping to Y you need an API
actually many API dependin on HOW you ping, one for each method ( browser=1 API, xml-rpc another one etc )
create your API and start pinging
Go to your Y site explorer
make sure you have your site "authenticated" !!
then read
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/siteexplorer/V1/ping.html
http://developer.yahoo.com/search/siteexplorer/V1/updateNotification.html
2.
the old fashioned browser ping for RSS feeds ( without spaces !!! )
http :// api. my . yahoo.com /rss/ping?u=http: // your . domain.tld/rss/fee.rss
3.
keep in mind that a while ago Y had a ping limit per day per IP - that is the reason why most existing PUBLIC ping services do NOT / never did work for Y ( pingoat, pingomatic, etc ). Y ping typically ONLY works if you ping yourself from your own IP!!!
ping only makes sense if you KNOW / get precise Y data about the number of "subscribers" to your feeds.
like all RSS / news services Y "drops" you ONCE a day OR more frequently a log line INTO your access_log with your exact reader/subscriber data per feed !!

Nice answer hans. Thanks for the links. I'm also looking for Y ping services.

I have it working with the old XMLRPC method (No api required). If yahoo got their developer area in order maybe more people would use their services.. It's sad because there is so much potential there...

to have it "working" means that you get positive RSS user/viewer feedback out of your access_log files (http://www.kriyayoga.com/love_blog/post.php/908)
= the feed bot drops user data from yahoo into your log file
a re-verification / comparison of both yahoo news bots on my log today showed that now BOTH bots have identical data for the same feed. which of both however is used or if both equally - i have no idea, hence i ping BOTH bots each time i post a new rss news article
