Yup, that option is there. Sometime (infact long time) back they gave one invite for free to their existing members. That was sold by some of those members. I am looking for that offer if available.

that offer is not available at this time, as far as I can tell. I have been a member for a while and remember when they gave out the free invites. At this time though, I do not think they are doing that. Their membership base has really grown and they ahve no need to give away the memberships for free when they are getting many daily paid membership signups.

I will let you know if I find out anything different, I am looking ovre the members stuff now to see...but I doubt it. Sorry.

I have written the mods on this and will psot any reply that I get. I searched the entire site and can not find anything that leads me to believe that they are offering invites. I will let you know either way though once I hear back from them.

The old invite that was given to folks some time last year, will that work if still available.

No, it won't work, and no, they are not giving invites any more. (actually I think if you don't give an invite in some time frame it just dissapears from your control panel, so you won't be able to find an old one)

Had a thread about it a while ago, can't find it but I have been a member for quite some time and know that the invites are not happening again.

I received an email back from the administrator of DNForum.com regarding this. Here is what he had to say:

Hi,

Yes we will be offering invites again however there is no specific date on the release.

It will be within the next few months.

The invites offered to members before had an expiration. They are no longer available.

I just got a email from the DNForum guys and they are offering a free "gold membership upgrade".

You just need to go to their site and sign up for an ID...then follow these instructions:

1. Please make sure you are logged into dnforum.com

2. Click on the link below (or copy and paste in new browser)
Link to upgrade to Gold Member:
http://www.dnforum.com/membership_free_gold.php

3. On the membership upgrade page, follow the instructions thoroughly until finish to complete membership upgrade.

This offer from them expires Friday March 31st, 2006.

I got an invite too from dnforum for free gold membership.. cool offer for newbies. If you want to sell domains .. you have to upgrade it further.

strange I went to the page and click on get your free gold membership but my username is still black,I can't use pm.... I can only see posts in the gold forum but I can't reply

First of all, it would appear that you have to sign up for a username before clicking the link. Just wanted to make that clear.

Second, if you are still unable to get gold access, I would suggest that you contact the support team of DNForum and let them know that you have a userid, and have clicked the free gold membership link, but still are not able to get gold access.

I am not affiliated with the site other than being a member, so I can not help with technical issues. It is a great site run by very good admins, so they should straighten any issues out that you have.

I was just trying to help provide a way for people to get access to their services, since there seemed to be a general interest in gaining access but without paying to upgrade.

Hope this helps some of you out.
