I found a domain on sedo I want... the guy however has it listed at an outrageous price and I know nobody else would want the domain(not really a hot domain)
Anyone got any ideas on contacting him since i can't find his contact info anywhere and of course sedo hides the whois from us buyers:mad:
any ideas would be great!

Yes it has value but not for most people...
All I can find is it is registered through moniker and the NS ar to trafficclub.com
And of course all contact details are for moniker.
EDIT: yeah checked many whois sites

Sounds like a supply & demand principle :)

If the privacy protection setting is disabled by the owner, you can check it by
http://whois.domaintools.com/yourdomain.com
or
http://easywhois.com/?domain=yourdomain.com
but if the owner enable provacy protection, it'll hard to get his/her email address

try emailing directly to webmaster@domain.com or postmaster@domain.com
(replace the domain.com with the real domain name of course)
hopefully he checks his email, but that might get you through to him directly

I was going to say the same thing, just go to DomainTools.com & do a whois search of the person & contact them directly

None of the above worked... moniker is protecting the whois and there is no way to see it... I tried webmaster@domain.com and it bounced. Any other ideas?

Okay I think we established that point... you sound as if I am trying to convince people its worthless... that is indeed not the case. The domain is worth something to me obviously cause I want it, but it is not a big-ticket domain.

Usually Sedo will have an 'Owner's price expectation' on the listing page. If the owner has not set a minimum reserve price you can enter a lower than 'expectation' price. I'll let you know that offering $100 for a domain that the owner is wanting $2k for will not get you to the negotiation table. As long as you offer something that is not minimum pricing the owner will usually negotiate with you or send the domain to a public auction.
If the owner has set a reserve above what you are able to pay you can use on of Sedo's brokers ($60) to contact the owner.
good luck

The domain is $400 and as it is limited to a small niche there aren't too many that will want it so I believe he will let it go for a little less like $200. There is a min reserve at $400 but again I am pretty sure he will neg as he is not likely to sell it otherwise.

But if you email the whois info even though it's got privacy, doesn't it still go to the person who owns the domain? Similiar to Godaddy's privacy with DomainsbyProxy???

If the owner of the domain asks for $400, start a bid with $100. Then you will see the result. Usually you get a more reasonable quote.
The site data (visitors to parking site/visitors to offer site) will tell you more about the demand.
Don't worry about being sent to an auction. Usually you just have to wait some days more. If it is not a high valued and demanded domain, it is not likely that anybody else will bid on it.

I tried but it didn't seem to go through... the contact was domain.com@monkier-privacy-whatever.com

What really sucks is the fact that I saw it go at auction for a few measly dollars... I tried to snap it but something happened and my bid never went through... the guy got it for a song. nobody else bid.

Maybe he does not want to sell it?
