Back Link from Google?

Hi,

I have a question about how google consider backlinks. I have a lot of backlinks coming in yahoo and other search engines but I only have 2 from google and I would like to know if theres something that Im doing wrong.

Ho do you check google backlinks? Do you use "link:..."? That is totally inaccurate. Use Google Webmaster Tools instead. You'll see many more backlinks...

Yep, this is the way to see them, but dont forget - list of backlinks in webmaster tools is not full.

Yeah, that's right. Do you have a source where the full list can be seen? I am under the impression that webmaster tools is very close, just needs an update cycle.

Ohh thanks. I use google sitemap tool and It shows 325 links over there but I wasnt sure if the one that really counts was the one that you see when you go to the google toolbar wich is showing only 2. Also how good are internal links?

Usually backlinks is updated when there is PR update in google..

No you're probably not doing anything wrong... Yahoo always show more of your backlinks than Google does.

It's best to just rely on Yahoo's link resources because they are seen as the most reliable.

no.. it is because, GOOGLE treats deliberate link exchanges as spam links(sometimes) and will not count..

wow i am having this same problem with my site googles backlinks are not updating from months i have over 200 backlinks from yahoo but only 2 in google same case as this thread starter's

If anyone knows what da prob please update us with it

I have managed to get some links on Google's own sites (their recommended Checkout stores). You'd have thought that could be no better link than one from Google itself. However, I don't even see that link listed in the webmaster tools nor in a Google search.

Anyone any idea what's going on?

Don't be surprise Google don't show all back links.

i guess google dont show all their backlinks so that webmaster and seo wont spam the sites that they consider as a backlink sites.
