Very recently we have opted to choose google analytics for tracking purpose for our site which has almost 4,00,000 pages. We can view the various reports. Now .....

How can I be sure that GA is tracking ALL pages.

Also I have set up two goals (same goal url say thanku.html) but the funnels set are bit different. When visitors are landing up in thanku.html, will that be included in the overall goal/funnel conversion report twice since I have set up two goals with the same goal url?

Please shed some lights.

the most important factor to assure GA/urchin is tracking all traffic is to verify that you have urchin installed on every single file.

the most important factor to assure GA/urchin is tracking all traffic is to verify that you have urchin installed on every single file.

how do I do that? Let me remind you that the site is soooooo HUGE!! when I try to download any report from the content section in csv format (hopefully then comapre it with a recursive listing ..) I can download a max 500 rows  which is 1/10th for a particular catagory!!

Someone please help me out:confused:

urchin is a javascript that needs to be installed
on each single page of a site with flat files
or in the templates if you have a site with CMS
then only you have all pages inlcuded in urchin's stats

if ur site is that HUGE ... then also your adsense $ wil be huge ...
hence nothing to worry about the work imposed by such work

sri
misinterpreted "GA"
but for adsene mediabot there is nothing to worry
any page that is found ( first loaded ) by visitors - also gets its mediabot visit, normally within minutes or a very few hrs.

if however a page never is loaded, then most likely the mediabot never finds the page.
if you do manual publishing and verify a new page yourself to check links, check / validate HTML code
then you have already triggered the mediabot visit yourself and an hour or so later when the first visitors come to your new page, the new relevant ads already appear.

GA = Google Analytics :D

and I thought this is the right forum to post my query Please shed some lights on Google Analytics now rather than Google Adsense

:)
that question is exactly what i answered at first above
then you meant my reply is about adsense.
my comment about adsense was simply that if your site is HUGE - then also your revenue huge and thus the extra work to install urgin javascipt-let is no problem when looking at the adsense-$ ...

the only way to have analytics track all pages is as above
===>>> to have urchin javascipt installed on EACH single page.

with a "huge" site - does NOT necessarily mean huge traffic of course ...
i have small site with only some 70'000 files but a "nice" traffic and approx half a million+ files served a day during offseason.

the point is

- what does analytics offer you as a UNIQUE data that any professional offline access_log stats could NOT give you ??

I am NOT very much into analytics. I have an account, used it every few weeks or months - but the day to day EXACT data I need to make sound decisions is my offline installed access_log stats tool. ( I use a heavily modified / updated version of webalizer - ultra fast with all details I need!
instead of huge csv I get data, graphics - all human readable

analytics i think is rather a help for smaller sites - much smaller than yours or hobby sites.
large and pro sites may usually use their own free OS or commercial stats SW

may be you review your analytics love and opt for a free stats program to get all data you need ??

there have been earlier threads here i DP forum about who prefers what stats SW ... and why.
