Clickthrough Rates

I thought I would ask what a respectable CTR is right now, regardless of target phrase. (no need to mention specific sites etc...)

Over the last two month I am averaging through today just over 8.5% last month was 7.8% with most this month close to or above 10% for most days. (weekends are killin me...sigh)

Is this good as a percentage you think? (definitely much higher than the last 3 months so I am certainly happy and going in right direction, which is up and most certainly showing in the $$$$$$...lol)

Just curious as what would be considered an ideal "Natural" CTR by professionals marketers using G as income stream and maybe suggestions on how to improve if this is lower than what should be expected.

it depends on your traffic, your layout, your ad placement, etc, etc. anywhere near the numbers you're posting is pretty incredible though. mind posting some tips on how you get it that high?

for large sites with ROS ads, I've never had over a 2% CTR. but then again, I have 15 pageviews for every unique visitor..

8% is a high CTR and it is good for you. I only averages 1%-2.4%.

when I dont mind specific targetting etc like you say, than I guess anywhere above 1,5% is good.

I just started running AdSense a few weeks ago on my site so not much history but the CTR averages 2.1% with a high of 5.4% and a low .7%

Totally depends on the types of pages (and placement of the ads). I have channels that range between 0.5% and 35% CTR.

Thanks all for your feedback. I wasn't really sure actually so that definitely lets me know not to complain with anything higher than 2% ;)

I think I must accomplish it by using really crappy content. People want to get the heck off the site and look for the quickest out. Adds are definitely closer to the "X" button and quicker for the mouse to click on for a fast exit! LMBO!

Getting people to do a desired action 35% of the time on the internet is astounding, regardless of what you are trying to get them to do. That is very impressive, I'm happy with my 9% on occasion, I couldnt conceive of something to raise it that high.

a better measure is # of clicks / # of visitors. For the channnels I get higher CTR, the page views is low.
