View Full Version : How Much Per Month Do Parked Domains Make?

Shadowplay
Nov 8th 2007, 9:48 pm
I have about 20 domains I want to eventually turn into sites that make money but it will take me a few months to get around to doing just a few I would imagine.

And so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to park them at SEDO or something in the mean time.

So I ask again, what does the usual site make with Adsense on it for a month?

Depend on your traffic... it's possible make no money in your adsense or even parking because of no traffic.

Depends on your domain name. I get only a few cents a month from SEDO.

i've got 3.62$ for 1 domain on october... the others were below 1$. you earn really low from parking. try to make websites and put adsense. you can get 30$/month easily from each website.

I make about $50/month parking domains. If you park, foget about Sedo, they're a joke, you'll make nothing with them. I use ParkingPanel, way better than Sedo

I'm assuming that these domains aren't showing up in the SERPS, that they're just getting type in traffic...

If so, since my domains are 3 keywords long, some of them with dashes, what are my chances of getting any type in traffic at all to make money off of the ads on the site?

I have quite a number of domains that are not type in traffic and have dashes in them and such... I get some clicks at SEDO, however, the difference is that these domains were typically aquired because there was history behind them... so, there are backlinks and maybe people with favorites/bookmarks and various reasons why people are still coming to the site years later.

Are your domain names currently getting any traffic ? If not then changes are you probably would see little to nothing.

30-40$ per thousands views in average for me at parking, and a little bit lower in adsense

It depends on the name, it could be zero or hundreds per month, if it has lot's of type in traffic then it could make you a fair bit. I still think it is always better to develp a domain into a website but parking is a good idea until you can do that.

Over 350, but it's only a few names that get any traffic. Actually, it's more than $100/month, but I've parked some names that I used to have as a developed site before.

Hi,
It's all about how well targeted your traffic is to the adverts shown.

I've earned over $1 per click for one domain with sedo, then $0.02 on other domains. You can expect 1% to 30% click through rate, again depending on why the traffic reached you. Type in traffic that finds you by mistake will rapidly realise their mistake and re-type the address they wanted. People who find you by searching will click through.

If you know the keywords that interrest your traffic, then you can tune the site for them and the earnings will rise. I've tuned this example for domain names http://www.Gr8Big.com/ (The domain is up for grabs by the way - contact me before I drop it :) )

Google Adsense provides most of the PPC adverts for the big name parking sites. So all you benefit from parking is an easy way to set up a large number of single page websites. With a good name and traffic, you are better off developing a site yourself.

fusionarcade.info is the domain. I recommend Name Drive. I like them more. Easy to use, but Sedo is good too. :D

it depends on how much traffic

Different parking companies are better for different domains. It's trial and error.
For instance one of my domains would make $150 per month at Sedo Pro and far less at Parked.com
Another domain makes far more at parked than sedo.
Further Fabulous does better for me on other names.
I Domainsponsor has never done as well as sedo for me nor have any of the other parking services.
It only takes a few minutes to set up an account and park the names. I suggest trying sedo then Parked and DS and ND etcetera and see which one does the best for each particular name.

Also if there is no type in traffic at all they will earn nothing so if that is the case don't bother.

Wow. That's a lot of domain names. Are you satisfied with the earnings from parked domains?

I don't want to be nosy but wouldn't you earn more if you were to transfer from parked to adsense? :D

Nothing. Zilch. Not unless the domain at least ranks with a page.

Not many domains, some people have over 100,000.

No, not satisfied, there's always more to be made. I would like more traffic & revenue, but I don't have any plans to develop any of those names now. You can't just put up adsense without a developed site, otherwise you'll get banned from Adsense. Anyway, I've got quite a few .info names that I will probably sell soon, so that'll reduce my portfolio soon

Actually, again it depends on the domain. For instance one of my domains makes far more with sedopro than it ever did with content and adsense no matter how well I optimized the site.
When I had the site it got maybe 50% more traffic but was making about $.02-.08 per click but at sedo pro it makes $.06 - .15 per click with less traffic it still makes way more per month.
It's all trial and error.

varunkrish

As I said earlier it all depends on the niche and then each particular domain.
You have to test all parking companies and you really should test for at least a month and that isn't even totally accurate.

Some domains do better at one parking company while another one may do better at a different parking company and yet a third may do better with an MFA site. It's all a crap shoot.
