Under Edit Settings, you can now enter your own Google API key. If you do, you will have the option to automatically recalculate your weight if you want.

I Validate/Calculate Weight for one of my slave accounts [sellingjournaldotcom] and everything updated fine except for the weight in the Master account [resalebrokerdotcom].

When weight is recalculated for a site, it takes up to an hour for the new weight to be applied to the network.

Yeah thanks for this, it makes altering ad settings on your site (e.g. adding more ads on the page) easier because you can see the results of it much quicker.

Shawn why when doing this would my weight shift between 9k, 27k and 42k.

Between say 10 revalidations 27k will come out 50% of the time, 9k 30% of the time and 42k 20% of the time.

I assume this is because it picks on a page and validates based on that page? Why would it differ so drastically?

Maybe the main page has multiple ads, and the page it picks to validate does not have the same number of ads. It will base it on the least number of ads found. For example, if you have 5 on the main and 2 on the one it happened to validate, you get credit for 2.

Does it say what page it can't find ads on when you try to validate?

Sorry Shawn did it a couple of more time and got my weight back :p

But as a sided note it did not say any pages - thanks

The ads are not in those pages, because those pages are redirecting to a different (login) page.

Same thing happened to me. I got really strange results with the manual validate. One click it display "error - ads not on page..." 0 weight, next click it validated and all my weight is back?! One click again "error -ads not on page.." 0 weight, few more clicks, it validated just fine all my weight is back again!? I checked the error pages and it does show the ads, so I don't understand what's going on...

I think I'll just leave leave the manual validate alone for now on.. :D

Isn't that kind of a flaw if people can not pass validation, then keep revalidating until it passes? It would indicate that people don't have ads on all of their pages, but are getting credit for all of them...

My site have been validated and has passed every validation since I signed up 2 month ago.

It would indicate that people don't have ads on all of their pages, but are getting credit for all of them...I would imagine that Shawn will still be doing intermittent spot checks and it would be fairly easy to programmatically flag those sites who revalidate until it hits their 'five ad' page. As always though there will be someone who tries it!

How do I solve this problem then? I have a couple of pages that have no ads as they are printer friendly pages. If the random validation happens to pick up those pages, that does mean my weight gets set to 0 until the next validation? Does that mean I have to do manual validation myself every couple of days?

Yes since in order to be in the ad network, you would need ads on all pages that Google knows about.

hmmm.. would such revalidation be illegal?
I have some printer friendly pages in google index that does not have the footer; thus the ads are not shown.

digitalpoint

Illegal? Uh, no... the terms of the ad network are all pages on the site.

I have problems getting it to show on all pages on my site. Can you help me out?
eg.
This page is ok
http://www.internetmlm.net/mod-subjects-viewpage-pageid-59.html
but this page is not
http://www.internetmlm.net/mod-subjects-printpage-pageid-59-scope-page.html

I'm using postnuke.

But then again, I would prefer the printer friendly pages not to show the link. Will that be ok?

I don't know anything about your CMS, so I'm not sure how to add it specifically to that page without seeing the guts/code. One option would be to block search engine spiders from picking up the printer only pages, then it wouldn't matter if ads were on it or not.
