I'm looking for a new logo for my College News (http://campusgrotto.com) site: Campus Grotto

I did the current logo on my own, but am looking for something more professional.

I do kind of like the current logo (a brandable icon with the words "Campus Grotto" next to it), but as mentioned, I want something professional.

Basically I'm looking for a web 2.0 style logo, something we can build a Brand around.

No color requirements.

Contest will go on until I find something I like, but should last about a week.

Payment will be made by Paypal.

Thanks everyone for the entries so far :)

hassan134 - Not sure if I like the CG icon

ottoisaac - I don't think a Graduation Cap is the way to go with this one

TDGraphics - I like it. Maybe play around with the C and the G inside the circle, but a good start. (If possible, can you also give a preview of what it would look like on my site).

Wasted - I'd like to see a bigger version of the red one you have in the top left corner. Also, maybe try some new variations of the icon (one without a crown).

natkhatgirl - I like it. Lets see what it looks like giving the inner circle background a blue color.

MikeEisME - Nice and clean, but not really feeling the icon.

For those using a "CG" in the Icon, how about emulating the College style lettering. Maybe like a logo icon you would see on a baseball hat or something. This is what I tried to do in my original logo, but its not all there. I think an example of College style lettering is something like this (http://www.eng.auburn.edu/~yuwang/Logo%20-%20Auburn.jpg).

These are just ideas of course.

Concept: The hat is a baseball hat which usually reminds a college, The CG togther in the circle is the 'baseball' player head basically which looks forwards to the text.

Any change can be made, Incase I win.

Here is updated feedback:

Kings Smart - I like the CG part, but the text seems almost too big and bold.

Galm_1 - Not really feeling the book/textbook in the logo.

natkhatgirl - I like it :)

Wasted - I like the red one with the icon off to the side. Still trying to decide if I like the baseball hat or not....

Gal - Interesting concept, but maybe try different variations of the back to back CG icon.

ottoisaac - I like it better than the first one. Maybe remove the reflection that's on the CG.

neilparnham - Looking forward to your submission.

Here are my favorites so far: (in no particular order)

TDGraphics (1st proposition)

Coolwanz - I like the pennant you have there. I'd like to see these two combinations:
1) Use the pennant icon over the "CampusGrotto" text of your last proposition.
2) The CG pennant on the left side of your first proposition ( The "Campus" over the "Grotto" text).

Ottoisaac - I like it! Let's try these two variations:
1) Put the CG icon in between the words "Campus" and "Grotto" and remove the tagline.
2) The CG icon on the left side, not above (keep the tagline).

TDGraphics - On your first proposition the tagline seems a little too big. Also, let's see a more standard reflection than a wavy one.
