I don't think it will affect anyone, but I've coded some restrictions when defining a signature. Previously it was a flat restriction of 250 characters.

It's still 250 characters, but has the added restriction of being limited to 3 lines and 4 links.

It's not really meant to penalize anyone, mostly just to automatically keep signatures from getting out of control without having to police them manually.

I think that is more than generous. After all, it is supposed to be a signature not a billboard.

Yep... While that doesn't guarantee all signatures are acceptable, it does cut out 99% of the human police work.

oooooch.... just when I thought I can make the signature the contribution.....

I've never understood why one needs more than one link and a lifes story.

It's very nice of this board to support links and yes they are in the SE's which should make us all very careful and supportive when using this.

Who want's to be in a bad neighbourhood?

Shawn, if you need any help ask the Europeans we are hours ahead....

we "white" kiwis are a funny lot. When we fill out forms we get classed as European or pakeha (stranger) in our own land. The concept of "ex kiwi" is totally understandable. He's left and he aint coming back. Now he really is European! Tell that to the real Europeans :)

Bravo Sarahk - I could not give a toss about Europe and the bunch of bureaucrats led by France wishing to push through more "communist like" state constitutions where the President is NOT elected by the people, on the back of entry of countries like Poland, Czech where, unfortunately they don't understand the word democracy like they do In the UK.

Whew - got that one of my chest!!!

looks like NZ hasn't changed much either in the last few years - sorry about that!
