Is it ok to click on an ad that intrests me that is served up on site that I have been directed to by someone on the forum? I know it would not be an issue if the site is not forum member owned. What if it is owned by a forum member? Are these invalid clicks and ones that might get either the site owner or myself in hot water with Google?

Thats fine. If an ad interests you on ANY website, except your own, go ahead and view it. But don't click for the sake of A) Helping that guy, B) Clicking for the heck of it. I'd only click ads that genuinly interest me.

Since I am a new user of adsense I find myself worried that any of my actions may cause the dreaded banned email from google. I know in time I will be comfortable with the rules and not even think twice.

i have been tempted to click on my own before tho, not for click fraud just because it realy interested me :(

thats the whole purpose of adsense. you will click on ads that interests you. as long as its not your site

I don't click on any ads only because I know how the system works. I like to save the advertiser some money and just go directly to the website. Then I hope for some good karma :)

You can click on any ad that is not your own.

Word of advice:

Over time you will build up many friends on-line. I tell everyone on-line that I share my url with NOT to click on my ads. This is just to ensure my account.

I agree with jerdei - whenever my friends ask me about what I'm doing, I always steer clear of letting them browse my sites / click my ads.

But I don't see any probs with clicking forum ads

Its ok.. you can surely click on them.
Unless its your own site, you are free to click on any ads.
