I'm interested in others stories. When did you actually see an acceptable increase in your adsense earnings? many of us do earn just about one or two dollars per day the first weeks. How many weeks or months did it take for your first project to generate real revenue with adsense?

Well a "boom" is hard to define.
I went from .63 cents to 3.00 in one month. Over 400% increase.
However now in the 6th month I've made $26 so far.
It's all about getting good traffic to your site and having good content.

Yes it is and you absolutely need to know where to find your targeted traffic unless you are already ranked in googles serps at a good position.

My site was not set up to be a money maker, I just wanted to share cheap airfare I found online with friends.
That being said I shared the URL with some forums related to the subject matter, and within a week of setting it up average just under 1000 unique visitors a day. it has only been seven days it is set up but I do get a suprising amount of click throughs.
I think it is because content is the priority of my blog/page, adsense secondary.
I understand it is against the TOS to say what actual income is, but if I never had an increase in either readership or click through I would make a few thousand this year(four figures). It has occured to me that I seem to be very lucky and that the large amount of clicks may just be due to the "newness" of my site.

My earnings increased dramatically when I learned to focus Adsense on the pages on my site with highest traffic, to customize those pages to be Adsense friendly, to blend the ads into the content, and to seed the content with appropriate keyphrases so that the ads would be as relevant to the content as possible.

My earnings where pretty good first month but after the first month they declined rapidly. Now they are on the rise again and passed the earnings of the first month 3 times in a row now :)

I learn new things every day. I still haven't gone the image route to draw more attention, but placement and a smooth integration seem to have worked wonders. It took me a year to hit $100/month and then another year before my next big leap - but it's still too recent to tell if the revenue will stick.
The path I'm following is to be more concerned about my website than my ads. Spending all your time tweaking your ad placement, context, finding high paying keywords, etc. may make the difference between 1 and 5 dollars a day, but you'll never hit $100+/day on a junker website. (JMO maybe there are people that differ).
Build a site, build a community, give users a reason to keep coming back and you will see a much bigger ROI on your time.
Look at this site. You think Shawn spends all his time figuring out what colors his adsense ads should be or where they should be placed? I don't think so.

He uses all the colors so he does not go wrong.
works for him maybe for some of you.

i'd say its more tied to traffic than anything else, if someone had a boom
second or third month they probably had more traffic second month, that
said you definitely can do things to increase ctr, placement, remove border
match the look to the site colors etc

thanks for all your replys. yes in fact it is more about the traffic so it possibly would be interesting to hear what you did to increase the traffic dramatically. anyway I somehow remember that there has been such a thread alread in past so I better do some searching :)

Hey,
i did 5$ this month, when i wasn't expecting this sum... my website is not designed for adsense at all, i just put my ads at a demo i made for a software that i sell.
i guess it really works :)

Still waiting...seems that the keywords on most of my sites only attracted very low paying clicks...I make pocket change (a dollar or two a day) but nothing taht I would call a "boom".
I am currently pursuing different ways to advertise, as I think that google is not worth the trouble. I am also a little concerned about their ability to shut my account down and take all my earnings at any point, even though I ahve done nothing different or illegal according to their TOS. This has happened to a friend of mine who was making a good little living with adsense on his sites. They said there was suspicios clicking going on, suspended his account and took away over $1500 in earnings. That worries me...too much power to abuse, if you ask me.

Well not a big BOOM but for Oct, Nov, and Dec 2005 I made $102.
So far for January I've made almost $90! :D
I owe alot of my current "success" to a few certain forums I frequent.

My first big boom was when my sites started ranking well in Yahoo. Previously almost all my traffic was from MSN, with a little from Google. I started my first site about 13 months ago, so I'm still fairly new to the game. However, I'm building sites and consulting full time now, which is nice.

Webgator, your site is a pure adsense play. There is only one page and it seems to be made for adsense.
