i think good informative sites that are usefull get higher pr... ie free information... so I dont think pr is all links... also some of my compeditors have no links back on google and mid pr??!!

i c they having 572 backlinks in google and lot of them are from good PR sites where first backlink showing in google is PR5. the way to check backlinks in google (i still don't know why this format works but it does) is link: then put a space, then site.com

if you want to have pr 5, you will need pr5+ backlinks from related web sites

site has been around for a while it has good alexa rank, lots of backlinks check yahoo and a ton of indexed pages.

on top of that 0 external links from the homepage.

Google's PR is a complicated algorithm, there are many factors....

google also makes mistakes, I have a site with a pr4 page when the site has few backlinks (and none with decent pr) and content that is hardly ever updated. I am certian google needs to make some algo changes

Google showing them 264 links and 173 in back link watch tool. I checked they have good number of links with PR 1-3 this is the main reason why they rank PR5.
