i heard many horror stories about domain names being plucked because of trademarks.
Although i have some good domains to register, i am very afraid to register them. what must i keep in mind ?
If you have any good advice, that would be more than helpful.

I would suggest using common sense... Don't try to register sonyps2.com or anything... Even things with trademarks in it are scary... Like yahootoys.com might be a bad idea...
Just personal opinions though, best of luck :)

Show me the domains you want to register and i'll let you know if they have TM issues :p Only joking ;)
Use your common sense. Don't register a domain, just because the company who it is related to is famous, and you think it will earn you loads of money, it will cause more problems than its worth.

Yes...if its a generic name that you can find in the dictionary, you should be ok.

Although im still getting to better grips currently with the world of domains, i would say to avoid any name that makes you feel nervous, and that would cause worry of it being taken from you by a large corporation.

How about this (devil's advocate time)...if it's a good name, go ahead and buy it. It's only a few dollars. If the company contacts you and wants it, then heck, give it to them. Honestly, that's all they are going to do to you unless you want to fight them on who owns it. That's when it gets nasty. But in the meantime, if you can make a few dollars from it, I would say do it.
