2 domain name pointing to 1 site

Sorry this might be a stupid question for some and i dont know if this is the right place to post this topic but i really need to know this.. Is it beneficial to have 2 domain pointing to 1 site? The problem is i have a website that dont have good-for-SEO domain name and im thinking of purchasing one that have my keywords on it. My question is will s.engine list both of the domain or just one?

The search engine will normally omit one of the 2 sites from it's results and from my understanding it will bring down the overall value of the site.
