I think they was banned...
what a pity, it was a good domain...

I believe it is because the domain seo.com was owned and parked by someone who was just running adsense or other affiliate links on it. It also sat for a long time without being updated or getting any new pages added. Google has either placed a penalty on it for being an affiliate type site or they are just taking awhile to get crawling the URL again after it had been sitting so long without any updates done to it.

Strange that they are not indexed - especially with them offering SEO services. Maybe the site is new ?? Maybe they are banned from Google ?? Who knows, but the fact that are offering services, that they can't even do for their own site is a little odd.

But they definately got the best possible domain name for what they do !!!

Like I said, the domain was recently bought this year from someone who just had a MFA site on the domain and wasn't doing anything with it. It seems to have drawn some type of penalty from Google for reasons probably related to that. SEO.com does offer SEO services and I am sure it wont be long before the site is indexed and ranking in Google.

Just google being slow, like everyone said after a URL sits dormant for so long it can take a while before it is crawled again.

That is one of my possible explanations for it.

May be google hates seo experts and seo service providers, since they see them as someone trying to outsmart google search engine algorithm to get a better search engine rank.

Web Gazelle
Oct 18th 2007, 7:56 am
I wouldn't say an SEO specialist is someone trying to outsmart Google. I consider myself someone who offers services to help make sites search engine friendly.

Go to the seo.com homepage and then look at my avatar and see if you notice anything.

Even for not being indexed in Google we still get referrals out the wazzu for our domain name. I just love that.

hmmmmmm... there is something decidedly familiar about it.... can't put my finger on it.... (wink)

Well, congrats on the domain, I am sure you'll get indexed eventually.... how long have U guys had the site up (ie; since the MFA was evicted)?

Well congratulations on owning the best SEO domain name there is.
Even without being currently indexed on Google, you should be getting a ton of hits just from type ins alone.

why is anyone spending more than 2 seconds caring if some random site is indexed or not indexed?

sweetfunny
Oct 18th 2007, 12:11 pm
Ahh that sucks, but i see what's going on.

why is anyone spending more than 2 seconds caring if some random site is indexed or not indexed?

Because it's ironic that a SEO Company doesn't even rank for their name.. Especially when they have the best domain for SEO you can get.

With a name like that I'm sure they will rebound. I have a good feeling about their staff...plus, sometimes when you offer services to others, it is hard to concentrate on your own site.

See my earlier posts. It was either penalized for originally being a MFA site before we got the domain or it was just taking a long time to get re-indexed after the domain had been sitting a long time without ever getting new content. We submitted a re-inclusion request a couple months ago and it looks like it has been re-included in Google's index.

Yes Loco.M, it is now indexed but it wasn't indexed yesterday.

$799 for a SEO site analyzis...that's nuts....

That would be an in depth analysis. You can get a free site analysis and ranking report. The free report is to give you a basic idea of how your site is doing and what services you can get from SEO.com to meet your marketing goals. Before you consider the analysis you should know what kind of marketing budget you have and be sure you can afford services from SEO.com. Otherwise you might just be wasting your time.

Its not really a site, why does google need to index it?

I am confused, why is it not really a site?

regardless of the fact if its indexed by Google.

this domain would get a crazy amount of type in traffic from the 10% of so of internet users who don't use search engines to find pages.

These people obviously business might not know what the average cost of SEO is and they would purchased packages from the site.

Your right, it does get plenty of traffic from type in traffic. But I am curious, what do you consider the average cost of SEO is? What do you think professional SEO should be worth?
